The lakes, channels and estuaries of the vast Danube Delta in Romania are a paradise for anglers. The 5,400 square kilometer nature reserve is amongst the most tranquil and picturesque fishing destinations in Europe and abundant with game fish. Fishing for pike, carp, catfish, zander, roach, bream and perch is open for most of the year except for the short spawning period in April and May. The Delta is an interesting destination for the most seasoned angler as it is for the relative novice and with options to fish from land and boats.
